Local 229 member returns from Iraq, presents Local with flag

 

 In September 2009, IBEW Local 229 member Valentine Zdanowicz returned from a year long tour of duty on the front lines of Iraq. While serving his country Val wrote numerous letters to his fellow members and friends at Local 229 letting us know where he was and that he was safe. Every member thought of Val during his time in Iraq and the entire IBEW is proud of him. At September's regular meeting Val presented an American Flag flown over Forward Operating Base Camp Bucca, Iraq and a plaque to Local 229 showing his thanks for the support he recieved during his deployment.

IBEW Local 229 would like to thank all military personnel and veterans for your devotion and service to our nation. Without your continued sacrifice the United States would fall to tyranny and oppression and our way of life as Americans would cease to exist.
